The client brought us a Ford Transit L2H2 with an old cargo area fit-out. The first stage of the project was removing the existing fit-out and thoroughly cleaning the cargo area. In some places there was already insulation, which we left in place.
A solid and functional cargo area fit-out
We made the floor from 12 mm plywood. This material is durable and moisture-resistant, which makes it ideal for commercial vehicles.
We made the side panels and doors from 6.5 mm hardwood plywood. At the client's request, the window openings were blanked off with durable ABS plastic, and we then fitted the standard 6.5 mm plywood panels. This solution increased the available workspace.
We made the bulkhead from 6.5 mm hardwood plywood and built it up to half the height of the cargo area. We also cut an access opening to the passenger compartment, which we secured with practical sliding doors.
The wheel arch covers are made of 12 mm and 6.5 mm plywood. Everything is protected with aluminium trim strips. The wheel arch covers are raised, creating additional storage space.
Load securing system
To make the cargo area more functional, we installed Airline rails on both sides of the vehicle. The system is equipped with load securing fittings.
On the left side of the vehicle we added extra reinforcement under the Airline rail, made of checker plate. This solution increases the strength of the mounting and makes the structure more resistant to intensive use.
