Van fit-out dedicated to the fish industry

Turkus S.C., a company in the fish industry, ordered a special-purpose cargo area fit-out designed for transporting fish in polystyrene boxes. The key goal of the project was to ensure stable transport conditions, including proper thermal insulation.

The cargo area was fully insulated, which helps maintain the right temperature and limits the impact of external conditions on the transported goods. We used 19 mm thick insulation on the ceiling and sides, which significantly improves thermal comfort inside the cargo area.

Durable cargo area construction

We made the sides from 6.5 mm laminated plywood and finished the ceiling with PP material. The floor is covered with durable 12 mm hexa plywood, which is abrasion-resistant and easy to keep clean. We also built in the entry step and wheel arch covers with additional fittings, which increases the durability of the whole structure.

Comfortable driver rest area

An important element of the project is the suspended bed, which we built on an aluminium frame, with additional insulation and tailored to the dimensions specified by the client. Inside, we fitted a 60 cm wide mattress with a slatted base, ensuring comfortable rest on long routes. The whole bed is finished in velour-suede fabric on soft foam.

We also added a foam wedge pillow and JUNKER Lighting LUCE lighting with a flexible arm, equipped with two USB ports and touch control. The back of the bed is finished in premium suede, which reduces noise and improves the acoustics of the interior. Quilting with a light non-woven layer further supports thermal insulation, while the hexagonal pattern gives the whole a modern finish.

Lighting, heating and functional details

The fit-out includes LED lighting, a two-way switch and an indicator light on the dashboard. Comfort is further improved by the 2 kW WEBASTO AIR TOP 2000 STC 12V Diesel heater, with heat distributed to both the passenger and cargo areas. We also made an illuminated wall that switches on when the door is opened, serving both a decorative and an identification function.
