Service van fit-out for Ford Transit L4H3 for John Deere service - complete workspace equipment

The Ford Transit L4H3 service van fit-out was built to the highest standard for a company providing machinery servicing for John Deere.

Protecting the cargo area

In the first stage of the project, we started by removing the factory fit-out.

Then we protected the cargo area:

• We made the floor from 12 mm plywood and covered it with durable checker plate. The entry step by the side door was also covered with aluminium sheet.
• We made the side and door panels from waterproof plywood laminated on both sides, 6.5 mm thick.
• We built the wheel arch covers from two types of material: laminated waterproof plywood and 12 mm anti-slip hexa plywood, additionally reinforced with aluminium fittings.
• We fully covered the bulkhead with 6.5 mm Premium waterproof plywood.
• We carefully sealed the entire fit-out.

Tecnolam shelving units

We started by preparing the substructure. Then we installed Tecnolam shelving units, a brand known for high-quality workshop systems. The frame is made of lightweight yet very strong steel with an anti-corrosion coating.

The shelving system includes:

• storage shelves,
• spacious drawers,
• practical bins for small parts,
• dedicated spots for sprays, silicones, etc.,
• a cleaning corner with a water container with a tap and a paper towel holder.

The fit-out also includes a workbench:

• equipped with drawers and bins,
• with a tool panel mounted above the worktop,
• with a worktop made of our 20 mm plywood,
• with a vice mounted on the worktop (supplied by the client),
• plus dedicated shelves for screwdrivers and hammers.

AIRLINE load securing system

We used the AIRLINE load securing system in the vehicle:

• aluminium AIRLINE LED rails mounted on the ceiling,
• Airline rails also mounted on the side wall and bulkhead,
• a securing system for a wheeled mechanic's creeper.

The system is equipped with:

• 3 m auto-retracting straps with fittings,
• load securing fittings,
• clothes hooks,
• an adjustable aluminium cargo bar,
• sockets for cargo bars (full set).

Electrical system

We installed a complete electrical system that includes:

• a Targed compressor connection kit,
• an indicator light in the driver's cab,
• AIRLINE LED rail integration,
• a two-way switch for ON/OFF control of the 12 V cargo area lighting,
• a panel with a 12 V cigarette lighter socket, two 5 V USB ports and a voltmeter,
• a 12 V LED floodlight,
• internal 230 V power sockets,
• a waterproof CEE 230 V power inlet,
• an additional compressor connection,
• an internal 12 V switch,
• a B16A 2P circuit breaker.

Additional solutions for more efficient work

• wall mount for a pneumatic hose reel,
• magnetic tool strip with extra reinforcement,
• mount for a Würth tool trolley on a plywood plate,
• plywood shelves for screwdrivers and hammers.
