We built a display van fit-out for the Mercedes Sprinter L4H2 for Högert, creating a functional space for presenting tools and equipment. The project combines durable materials, well-thought-out structural solutions and modern lighting, turning the vehicle interior into a mobile product exhibition.

Madovan ZION roof window installation

We started by cutting an opening in the roof and installing a Madovan ZION roof window measuring 700 × 500 mm. The model we used has a white finish, built-in lighting, a blackout blind and an insect screen. The window is a practical part of the fit-out, providing daylight and extra ventilation for the interior.

Ceiling insulation and finish

The next stage was preparing the ceiling. We used 19 mm insulation with aluminium foil. We then installed upholstered plywood ceiling panels, giving the interior a neat, uniform finish. We also ran two parallel LED lighting strips along the entire length of the ceiling. They light the display area evenly, making it easier to present the tools and to use the van in any lighting conditions.

Side panels and bulkhead made of laminated plywood

We made the side panels from 6.5 mm plywood laminated on both sides with phenolic film. This plywood has several important properties:

  • Increased abrasion resistance - the phenolic layer protects the surface from typical signs of wear.

  • Better moisture resistance - the protective coating reduces the surface's sensitivity to moisture.

  • Durability and rigidity - the carefully chosen thickness gives the walls a solid finish.

  • Easy to keep clean - the smooth surface makes dirt easy to remove.

  • Attractive appearance - laminated plywood gives the interior a uniform finish.

Rear door fit-out and functional tool space

An important part of the project was the rear door fit-out. The structure includes an additional wall with a recess for a tool trolley and space for hanging tools. Each item of equipment therefore has its own display spot. For this part of the fit-out we used 12 mm plywood, which offers high strength and moisture resistance. Opening the rear door gives access to the vehicle's electrical system components, including the LED lighting control panel, and to the EcoFlow power system. The EcoFlow 1000 and EcoFlow Charger units handle energy storage, power supply and charging.

GEMA display shelving units - tool exhibition

On both sides of the vehicle we installed display shelving units from the Italian brand GEMA, supplied by the client. Their design makes efficient use of the cargo area and prepares the interior for presenting a wide range of tools.

The shelving units are made of high-quality steel and durable structural components, which ensures stability and long-term use. A key part of the equipment is the perforated metal panels fitted with holders for displaying tools.

This solution keeps the presented products organised, makes them easier to arrange and provides convenient access to each item. It also allows a clear display tailored to the nature of Högert's business.

Additional equipment - Thule awning and slide-out step

  • Thule Omnistor 6300 motorised awning - with a black housing, creating a covered area next to the vehicle.

  • Roof adapter for the Mercedes Sprinter - designed for mounting compatible Thule 6200/6300 series awnings.

  • Thule awning pole - an accessory that makes the awning easier to operate.

  • Thule Slide-Out Step G2 - making it easier to get into and out of the vehicle.

The awning extends the usable space beyond the vehicle's footprint, which can be especially useful when presenting products outdoors. The slide-out step makes getting into the interior more convenient.

Electrical system and Webasto parking heater

We also installed the electrical system, including wiring routed throughout the fit-out. Among other things, it powers the LED lighting and works with the fitted equipment. The control panels and EcoFlow units are separate parts of the system, which we took into account when preparing the fit-out and planning the wiring layout.

We also fitted the van with a Webasto parking heater controlled from the driver's cab. The parking heater warms the vehicle interior without running the engine. It improves comfort when the vehicle is parked, especially in colder months. The electrical system, lighting and equipment together form a coherent whole, suited to the needs of a mobile exhibition.

Illuminated Högert logos using Altuglas LED System technology

An important visual element of the project is the illuminated Högert logos placed on the bulkhead and on the side walls above the display shelving units. We made them using the Altuglas LED System, based on high-quality cast PMMA-C acrylic sheet designed for LED backlighting. The material helps diffuse the light evenly, so the logos are clear and well displayed. The backlighting emphasises the brand's visual identity and gives the interior a modern look.

Display van fit-out

The project for Högert shows how to turn a Mercedes Sprinter L4H2 into a functional showroom. A durable finish, display shelving units, LED lighting and an electrical system create a coherent space for presenting tools.
