Ford Transit L3H2 van fit-out - a workspace with the Makita MAKTRAK system

Floor

We made the floor from a single 12 mm thick panel. We used a grey hexagonal pattern that is easy to keep clean. We installed it without modifying the vehicle structure, using the original holes in the body. The rear and sides of the floor are additionally protected by an aluminium threshold strip.

Side panels and bulkhead

We made the side panels and the bulkhead from 6.5 mm thick plywood laminated on both sides. This solution provides resistance to abrasion and moisture, higher impact resistance, easier surface cleaning and greater durability in everyday use, while the phenolic film protects the plywood surface.

Access to the passenger area

We also made an access opening that allows long items to be carried and gives access to the passenger area, fitted with a sliding door. The entire fit-out is carefully sealed, which ensures high durability and protection against moisture and dirt.

AIRLINE load securing system

In the cargo area we installed the AIRLINE load securing system, which keeps transported items securely in place.

The AIRLINE system from Wistra includes:

an AIRLINE rail with LED lighting mounted on the ceiling,
auto-retracting straps for AIRLINE rails,
holders for AIRLINE rails,
hangers with holders for AIRLINE rails,
two LED lamp holders for AIRLINE rails.

GEMA shelving units

Equipment is organised by shelving units from the Italian brand GEMA, made of extruded, anodised aluminium and lightweight composite materials. The shelving units are fitted with shelves, compartments, drawers, bins for small parts, and space for cables and smaller accessories. Aluminium and composite materials make it possible to build a durable structure while keeping the weight of the fit-out relatively low.

The van is also equipped with a sturdy fold-out work surface and a practical shoulder sink cleaning corner.

Electrical system

The van is equipped with an extensive power system that includes the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus portable power station, the EcoFlow Alternator Charger and the Mini Plug Xtreme external power set.

The system is completed by:

a protection set with an overcurrent circuit breaker,
5 x 230 V switches placed around the van,
a cigarette lighter socket,
an LED latching switch,
an LED indicator light in the driver's cab.

The entire installation and the placement of the sockets were planned with work ergonomics in mind. Individual power points are located where they suit the way the fit-out is used, making it easier to use devices and tools at work.

There is also room in the van for a compact automatic capsule coffee machine.

Makita tools and the MAKTRAK system

The tools were supplied by the customer and mounted on the bulkhead using the MAKTRAK system. This solution allows for an orderly arrangement of tools on the wall of the fit-out and gives direct access to them.
