For the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Rybnik-Popielów we completed a comprehensive, professional van fit-out, designed for functionality, safety and heavy use during rescue operations.
The fit-out was paid for by the firefighters from their own funds. In recognition of their commitment and daily service, we gave a discount on the project.
Durable interior fit-out
In the rear of the vehicle, on both sides, we built sturdy shelving units from 12 mm waterproof plywood, upholstered to better protect the equipment and give the interior a neat finish. The shelving units include an upholstered charger compartment, and we also fitted the vehicle with an electric kettle. In the front section of the side wall and on the sliding doors we used panels made of 6.5 mm laminated plywood.
Equipment securing and organisation system
Above the shelving units we installed Airline load securing rails, while in the ceiling we fitted rails of the same type with LED lighting. The ceiling rails serve a dual function - they are part of the load securing system and provide additional light for the work area. This solution allows equipment to be secured quickly, safely and stably.
Complete electrical system and power supply
The entire electrical system was built from scratch. The wiring runs under the headliner and is protected by a toggle-type battery disconnect switch and appropriate fuses. Inside the vehicle we made a panel with a 12V cigarette lighter socket, two USB ports and a built-in voltmeter. We also installed two internal power sockets with the complete wiring.
On the left side, under the plywood structure, we placed a Green Cell voltage converter, with an access hatch for easy servicing.
Emergency lighting and warning signals
On the roof of the vehicle we mounted two light bars from Strobos and a 3-metre Fiamma awning. We installed a complete set of audible warning signals for emergency vehicles: an HSP-1 generator and a VS-150W speaker. Directional strobe lights are fitted in the front grille, and six additional illumination lights on the outside. The front of the vehicle also received a bull bar and a work light.
Custom solutions and refined details
Above the passenger cabin we installed a control panel housing that was designed and 3D printed in-house. The entire fit-out was made with attention to every detail and in line with the requirements of the rescue services. OSP Popielów is our local unit, with which we have close ties and which we support, as it supports us. That makes us even happier to have carried out this fit-out and to provide real support to the firefighters in their daily service.
